In collaboration with its three partner faculties, the Institute is committed to supporting future researchers on European issues, particularly when their project has an interdisciplinary dimension. All doctoral students must identify a main discipline, which will determine the doctoral degree awarded.
Your PhD, in brief
Doctorates are postgraduate studies intended for holders of a master's degree. The training and work involved in preparing a thesis total 180 credits. It is supervised by a supervisor within a research team. To obtain the degree, doctoral students must submit a doctoral thesis and defend it before a jury of specialists.
Degrees are awarded by one of the IEE-ULB's partner faculties. All doctoral students must identify a main discipline, which will determine the doctoral degree awarded (in law, political science or economics and management).
