Master in European Studies – EUROSUD track
The Master in European Studies is a two-year (120 credits) programme of excellence focusing on the European Union.
The programme aims to provide students with a solid knowledge of European integration and to develop their critical thinking on European issues. It will also enable students to interact with practitioners in European affairs and to begin their integration into the professional world.
Objective of the EUROSUD track
The EUROSUD track is part of the Master's programme in South European Studies, an international programme organised jointly by a consortium of universities that are members of the CIVIS Alliance.
The specialisation offers a focus on the Southern European Region. It allows students to obtain a multiple degree from the ULB, the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and the Sapienza Università di Roma (SUR). Students spend the first year of the Master’s programme in Madrid and the second year in Brussels and Rome. The programme is taught entirely in English.
The programme will focus on the Mediterranean basin, a region with a distinct identity and a central role in European and global affairs. It is an in-depth multidisciplinary course on the political, economic and social dynamics of Southern Europe. The Brussels-based course focuses on the European Union, its public policies and institutions. The aim is to help students better understand the role of the EU in the dynamics and transformations that characterise Southern Europe.
