BoundEUries, a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence project

Boundary- and Community-Making in the European Union-BoundEUries is the new Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence project granted to the Institute for European studies-Université libre de Bruxelles (IEE-ULB) for the period 2025-2028. This label is both a sign of international recognition and an instrument that enables us to fulfil our threefold mission of research, teaching, and stimulating public debate.

The Kant Room is renamed the Corradi Room

In accordance with the decision of the Council of the Institute for European Studies on 16 March 2026, following a participatory consultation, the Kant Room has now been renamed the Corradi Room.

Visiting researcher: Marko Vidakušić

Marko Vidakušić is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka, bringing a highly interdisciplinary academic background to the Institute. His qualifications include a Master’s degree in Political Science, as well as a postgraduate specialist degree and a Master’s degree in Economics.

Policy Briefs: Debates on the Future of Europe 2025–2026

As part of the Debates on the Future of Europe, students from the Institute of European Studies (IEE-ULB) and the Department of European Politics and Governance at the College of Europe have worked together throughout the academic year to analyse some of the most pressing challenges facing the European Union.

The IEE in figures

In 1964, the IEE established its headquarters in a private house at 39 Avenue F. D. Roosevelt in Ixelles. The building was designed by Adrien Blomme, a leading Brussels architect, between 1926 and 1928. In 1990, the IEE-ULB expanded into the adjacent villa.
