The IEE-ULB Doctoral Thesis Prize recognises outstanding doctoral research that makes an original and significant contribution to European Studies and to the understanding of contemporary European affairs. The Prize aims to highlight the scientific excellence and innovative work of early-career researchers, while enhancing the visibility and dissemination of high-quality doctoral research on Europe.
The Prize is open to doctoral theses defended within the two academic years preceding the call, in the humanities and social sciences, provided that they are relevant to European Studies and demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach and/or potential for dialogue across different fields.
The Prize includes a €2,000 contribution, paid directly to the publisher « Éditions de l'Université de Bruxelles », to cover the publication costs of the winning thesis in the Études Européennes series, subject to the successful completion of the editorial process.
